DR. COSTIS CHRISTOGIANNIS
Short Bio
Dr. Costis Christogiannis, has obtained his MSc in Electrical Engineering in 1991 from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). In 1997 he obtained his PhD from the same university, working on the electromagnetic modeling and the exploration of holographic materials and optical setups for data storage.
He is currently working as Senior Research Scientist in PCRL involved in the project management and coordination of the European research projects that PCRL leads as coordinator or participates as beneficiary including EURO-FOS Network of Excellence (NoE), ICT-APACHE, ICT-BOOM, ICT-POLYSYS, ICT-PANTHER and ICT-BIOFOS.
Previously Costis worked as Senior Researcher of the Telecommunications Laboratory of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NTUA in numerous FP5, FP6 and FP7 projects in the domain of performance modelling and estimation of distributed High Performance Computing, Grid and Cloud Architectures.
His research interests are in the field of high-speed photonics technologies and all-optical systems, performance estimation of distributed systems, design and development of distributed architectures, media processing techniques and data fusion. Costis is also a Senior Consultant on advanced technologies in the private domain.
